With your prepayment
Calculations use standard EMI amortization mathematics. Actual lender schedules may vary because of lender-specific rounding, dates, fees, rate changes and other terms.

How Your EMI Changes Across Tenures
Same loan amount and interest rate, different tenures (no prepayment).
Longer tenures lower the EMI but raise total interest.

Under the hood
How EMI Is Calculated
For reducing-balance loans, the EMI is usually calculated with the standard annuity formula:
EMI formula
EMI = P × r × (1 + r)n ÷ ((1 + r)n − 1)
- P Principal
- The loan amount.
- r Monthly rate
- Annual rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100.
- n Months
- Number of monthly EMIs.
Each month, interest is charged on the outstanding balance; the rest of the EMI reduces the principal. Displayed amounts are rounded to the nearest rupee. Lenders may round the EMI differently, charge broken-period interest for the first month, or adjust the final EMI.
